What happened next
After the visit, food sales at Murphy's Law were up about 15% and drink sales up 25%. The recovery was short-lived. The bar closed in July 2012, before its Bar Rescue episode, 'Murphy's Mess', was broadcast on August 5, 2012. Debt was among the biggest problems: the owners tried to sell the bar, but continuing structural problems with the building, which had been identified during the rescue, made it difficult to find a buyer. The Fell's Point site was later occupied by Papi's Tacos, which was still trading there in 2025; that restaurant temporarily closed in 2021 after a wall of an adjoining building collapsed.
