The rescue
Jon Taffer kept the name King's Duck Inn for the relaunch.
King's Duck Inn had closed by March 2022. The property was sold to MI Ventures Group LLC in September 2022 for $310,000, after a failed auction in 2021 and repeated listings.
What happened next
Sales rose by $5,000 per week at the six-week check-in. Owner Serena Biscontini later sought to sell the bar for personal reasons: her sister died in 2019, leaving her to raise her 16-year-old nephew, and she wanted more time with her family. An auction scheduled for February 19, 2021 failed to produce a sale, and the property was listed again in August 2021 at $1.6 million and once more in May 2022. The bar itself had closed by March 2022, when a review reported it shut and Google listed it as permanently closed. The property was then sold to MI Ventures Group LLC, with the sale closing on September 8, 2022, for $310,000. Reviews before the closure were mediocre, at 3.5 stars on Yelp and 3.8 on Google.
