The rescue
Jon Taffer relaunched Park 77 as The Lister.
Park 77, relaunched as The Lister, closed in April 2021. On a 2016 Back to the Bar revisit, the owners had removed Taffer's pictures, put a ping-pong table on the dance floor and brought back the couch from the adult film shot at the bar.
What happened next
The Lister was revisited in a 2016 Back to the Bar episode. By then the owners had torn down the pictures Taffer had installed and placed a ping-pong table in the middle of the dance floor; they said the remodel "sucks" and made their contempt for Taffer plain. In a further act of defiance, they brought back the couch from the adult film that had been shot at Park 77. Reviews were mixed, with praise for the pool table and hookah against complaints about high prices and slow service. Despite the owners' hostility to the rescue, the bar traded for nearly six more years before closing in April 2021, succumbing to the Covid-19 pandemic and other issues.
