The Dickson closed in August 2018 after Ashley and JD sold the bar to focus on their newborn son. Later operators traded at the site under the original Wanted Saloon name.
What happened next
Sales doubled in the six weeks after the rescue. Ashley and JD kept The Dickson name, adding the slogan 'Home of the Big One,' and Tammy took over as manager so that JD could concentrate on his music. The turnaround did not hold. The Dickson closed in August 2018, the month its episode aired and about nine months after filming, after the owners announced on Facebook that they were selling and closing in order to focus on their newborn son. A buyer was found, and the bar continued to operate under its original Wanted Saloon name for a time; by March 2022 it was marked closed, and Sir Pizza of Dickson later moved into the building.
