Marley’s on the Beach / Marley’s Beach Club closed in November 2013 for personal reasons. The owners disliked the name Taffer proposed and renamed the bar Marley’s Beach Club.
What happened next
At the six-week check-in, sales were up by more than 30% following the rescue. The owners, however, disliked the St. Michelle’s Beach Club name Taffer had given the bar and dropped it soon after his visit. Rather than return to the original Marley’s on the Beach, they adopted a compromise, Marley’s Beach Club, keeping Taffer’s beach club concept under the Marley’s name. The bar closed in November 2013, with the owners citing personal reasons.
