Six weeks after the rescue, trade had improved and the local community was rallying around the bar. Sam Jordan's was put up for sale in May 2019 but was pulled from the market after an outpouring of community support. The reprieve did not last: the bar closed in November 2019, about three years after the episode aired. Its closure was attributed to a lending arrangement with Sequoia Mortgage Capital that allegedly left the bar with more than $500,000 of debt. The property was bought in December 2020 by an artist who planned to reopen a bar under the same name, and it was sold again in April 2023 to a new owner who did not plan to use the Sam Jordan's name.
